Earlier today, a team of volunteers helped alert 750 residents in Saughall Massie to next week's crunch hearing on the campaign to save the surrounding Green Belt.
Councillors Colin Baldwin, Gary Bennett and Vida Wilson have written to people living in the Saughall Road, Garden Hey Road and Saughall Massie Village area with details of the hearing by the Local Plan Inspectors. A copy of the letter is below.
The hearing into the counter proposals for more than 1,000 houses in the area takes place on 31 October at Birkenhead Town Hall. It starts at 9.30am. Residents can attend in person to hear the council's proposals to protect the Green Belt, and the developers counter-proposals to build on it. The hearing will also be broadcast on the Council's website via this link
Ian Lewis, Deputy Chairman of the local Conservatives said:
"Colin, Gary and Vida are a good team who work together on local issues. Residents tell us they like their work, all year round, across Moreton and Saughall Massie.
"Ahead of next week's hearing, we were keen to help them get the message out to many of the residents who would be most affected if the Green Belt was lost. This was the first meeting of our new Campaign Support Team and we were especially delighted the rain held off!"
