A planning application has been submitted to Wirral Council that could see 17 houses built on the grazing land bounded by Greenleas Road, Greenleas Close, Leasowe Road and the North Wallasey Approach slip road.
The developer, Starship Group, is seeking to build the houses with access from the bottom of Greenleas Close, near Greenleas Primary School, a designated 'School Streets' area.
A similar application several years ago lapsed because work did not commence within the required period. Since then, the land has remained fallow, inaccessible to the public but a haven for wildlife.
Since that application, Wirral Council has also finally produced a draft Local Plan which commits the council to 'brownfield first' - building on previously developed sites. This land is NOT brownfield land.
Copies of all the documents submitted by Starship Group can be found via this link application details (via Wirral Council website). We've also attached a few of the key documents below.
Please note the short period for public comments: the council’s website asks for comments (whether in objection or in support) by Thursday 13 October. There are three ways to comment.
• You can email [email protected]
• Write to Planning Department, Wirral Council, PO Box 290, Wallasey CH27 9FQ
• If you have a ‘My Wirral’ account you can comment that way
Please make sure you include the application reference number APP/22/01323, your name and address.
