Homes in Wirral are set to benefit from a £5.3m cash boost from the Government.
The cash is part of around £500 million nationally, across 78 projects, and will help upgrade energy inefficient homes of low-income households in England. The projects will complete by March 2023.
Energy-efficient measures, including new insulation or solar panels, help residents save money on their fuel bills.
Residents in Wallasey and Moreton - whether owner occupiers or private rented - will often be able to have the work done at no cost to them.
And, unlike some previous grants, this latest help is available to any home in the Borough, so long as it is one of those most in need of energy-efficiency measures where the family has in income of £30,000 or less.
Here in Wallasey, many such homes are privately rented. This latest grant is available to those who rent, as well as those with a mortgage or who own the home outright.
Our candidates for the council elections on 5th May - Lesley Rennie, Vida Wilson, Darren May, Jane Owens MBE, Debbie Caplin and Bobby Cartwright are keen that people in this constituency apply for the help available.
