Wirral Council's Highways Department is consulting on proposals to improve access for residents of Newport Avenue, Groveland Road and Bayswater Court.
The proposals follow a street surgery and petition organised by local Conservative Councillors, following concerns raised by residents.
Among the issues raised:
- The need for 'dropped' kerbs at the junction with Bayswater Road, to help people with buggies, prams and wheelchairs
- Inconsiderate parking near the entrance to the private car park at Bayswater Court
- Parking at the junction with Bayswater Road, impeding visibility for drivers leaving Newport Avenue
Following the petition, which was submitted to the Mayor, the Highways Engineers visited the area and immediately agreed to have dropped kerbs installed - and also at Basywater Gardens. This work has now been completed.
The next stage is for parking restrictions as shown on the plan as shown here, subject to any views, comments or further suggestions from residents by no later than 4 August.
